#Wednesday Wishlist

I have been a bit MIA for the past week but thats becuase I am trying to enjoy the last moments of my summer break before school officially starts Monday....
This summer has been fabulous and filled with many unexpected surprises and adventures. I expect the adventures to continue therefore I've been making a wish list of outfits (mostly dresses) that I would wear while experiencing each adventure.

So without further adieu here are what I am dreaming of while summer break's end is quickly approaching!

I am in love with this Coach bag!
Coach Legacy Mini Tanner Crossbody In Leather

These dresses have occupied my summer day dreams! This dress is sold out but nevertheless definitely worth swooning over!

OR this Tory Burch stunner!

And this classy black and white piece that is a perfect office attention grabber by Malene Birger!

Of course I am always on the look out for a wonderful lace get-a-way dress such as this 60"s Lace Panel dress from TopShop

And I've saved the best for last, SHOES, the apple of my eye the bane of my existence, the reason I am studying so hard, so that one day I can afford all the shoes my heart desires. Such as these Valentino's , they are very popular but still not affordable for a poor student, but it never hurts to dream!

Now I know that almost nothing on this list is affordable but like the title says, it's a wish list, a girl can always dream!

#I am a purse-son....

See what I did there? Many women have a love hate relationship with purses, they are stylish and can add character to an outfit but are a commitment and can be heavy burden to carry. Purses are not for ever women but I don't understand how those women carry anything. Our jeans are not designed to carry our wallets in the pockets nor are female wallets designed to fit in a pocket. Plus there are phones to carry and possibly a mirror and lipstick. So unless you wear bulky clothes all the time, purses are essential.
Now that I established that purses are essential, the next step is finding the one universal and timeless handbag!
The handbag that I dream about is this cross body Chanel bag,

Chanel shoulder bag

However, I don't have the disposable income to purchase it, so like many other things I am always on the look out for something comparable and a much more acceptable price point. The quilted shoulder bag is elegant and a perfect size, big enough to fit a wallet, phone, keys, and your favorite lipstick but not to big that the burden of carrying it around outweighs the benefits of having it. Since I am assuming most women cannot afford an original Chanel bag, there are many designers that make comparable ones. If you only want one bag then I suggest you invest in the cross bag, its elegant enough to wear at a special event but can also be dressed down with a pair of jeans and t-shirt. Here are some of my favorite alternatives, I own the Kate Spade one and I get constant compliments on it. (Is definitely one of my favorite purses!)

Tory Burch "Natalie" is also a great alternative, the quality and style is perfect.

Coach has amazing classic styles and what is there not to love about this simple yet elegant "Poppy" Leather Flight bag?

If you are willing to spend a little more this Marc Jacobs bag from Neiman Marcus is a beautiful investment:
If I haven't mentioned it before, I love purses and I am definitely a Purse-son!! For a Tuesday that is as witty as I can be. Have a wonderful day!

#wishful thinking

This past week I was asked what mega trend I wish would happen soon, although my initial answer wasn't that clever it got me thinking...

Elegance is an essential principal of timeless fashion. Despite the fact that elegance is lacking among the celebrities that appear on the magazine covers and tabloids, I miss the times where the beauty of the modest women was appreciated rather than how sexy her butt and abs look in the scandalous outfit.
The oxford dictionary defines "Sexy" as sexually attractive and exciting. As a female in the modern world isn't that a description that you would want to deviate from. The very description implies objectification. There is a line between accenting various qualities from flaunting them openly without reservation. One is dressing to fit your body type, while the latter is plain disregard for your self-esteem.  Dressing to impress should not be focused on revealing skin, but rather dressing to express your inner beauty, personality, and expose your worth.
I know that this post may seem like a feminist rant but my point is that I hope that instead of ladies admiring celebrities that make a living objectifying the potential of a women, I hope that women start respecting true ladies of achievement that broke the boundaries that society enforced. I wish magazines would do more editions with fashionable successful women, the lawyers, doctors, CEO's, politicians, accountants, teachers, chefs, architects and so on that are worth admiring.

So the fashion mega trend I wish for is modesty and the women that deserve the same commemoration that some mediocre pop star with the auto-toned album and scandalous behavior and outfits do.

Here are some of my favorite women that I admire both professionally and fashionably, I hope they inspire you as much as they inspire me!
Find a beautiful picture and a link to their wiki page below:
Sheryl Sandberg                                             Sonia Gandhi

Queen Elizabeth II                                             Tory Burch

There are so many more... but I am proud to see how these beautiful women dress for success and have
