#It's the thought that counts

The next question is what you get that friend, that you care about and is important to you, but you don't have the income to buy them something big or elaborate?
I don't think that the bigger the gift the more you care about a person. I like to pay attention to what my friends say or mention, sometimes the perfect gift is something small and thoughtful that they will love, even if it didn't break the bank.

Here are some small and thoughtful gifts that will be sure to make that special friend smile on Christmas.
1. Luggage Tag: Amazon has great deals on sassy travel accessories.
2. Bracelet: Perfect amount of sparkle to complement any holiday outfit.
3. Mugs: As you can probably tell I like clever or sassy trinkets and Kate Spade is the perfect one stop shop for all things cute and sassy.
4. Gloves: As the weather drops it's important to always have some cute gloves on hand.
5. Beauty Set: Philosophy is a wonderful beauty company and this little gift set is a great introduction to their products.
6. Coin Holder: I love Michael Kors from handbags to coin holders.
7. Compact Mirror: I always feel like you never have a mirror when you most need it, this cute little piece would complement any purse.
8. Socks: Normally I would not recommend buying socks but these are to cute to pass by.

Hope this helps! Stay warm!

#kick your booties

Yesterday was officially the first day of FALL, my favorite season. The pumpkin spice lattes, the crisp air, the changing colors, the brown tones, and soft light sweaters, what's not to love about it?
I was looking forward to the fall weather, there is nothing better than waking up to the sound of rain fall and being snuggled up in bed with a good book.
Although I don't get that many chances to stay in bed and read books that are not related to my school studies, I still make sure that one day a semester I take a whole day off, go to a cafe, drink a pumpkin spice latte and devour a book. I refer to it as my mental vacation, although I eventually pay for the day off, it was all worth it in the end!
[Side note, I am currently reading David Mitchell's "The Back Story", I like british comedy and this is an easy read that will for sure make you giggle]

One of my favorite things about fall are the shoes ( I love shoes!!), however I am extremely picky and on a budget. It takes me forever to find the perfect bootie or boot but when I do its love at first sight!

So I am already starting my new season bootie search (and I don't mean the body part).

Since I live in California, the cool weather doesn't actually start up until late Oct. to Nov. which gives me a little time to get my new wardrobe in order. Here are some of my booties options:

I saw these lovelies on See Jane, a blogger I love to follow and recommend others check out her blog!
Seychelles Scoundrel Black Booties

These cut out booties would be perfect for California's Fall weather and who doesn't love the beautiful gold tones!

Similar Style as the Seychelles but a bit more affordable: these Aldo Arzts

Kate Spade never disappoints, however I can't say my wallet is very fond of her :)

It was love at first sight with these Indigo by Clarks, the slight heel and the rustic brown color, I am smitten!

Oh how I'd love these Sigerson Morrison beauties!

The search for the perfect bootie gives me a rush and I am excited to start my journey into this new season!
I wish everyone a wonderful second day of Autumn!

#Back to School

So school has officially started for me as well. Back to reading case books, highlighting, post-its and late night study sessions.
What used to be my favorite part of back to school was the back to school shopping. I'd go with my mother to get new outfits, new shoes and school supplies. That was probably the best part, there is something about getting new binders and notebooks that gives me a rush. I loved picking out my new pencils and highlighters, I just knew that they would be used for great things that year!
Now back to school shopping still happens but I don't (nor can afford that many new school outfits) but I still GET the same rush when I buy new notebooks and highlighters.
I also used to get a new backpack every year, I mean the style and trends changed so my pink backpack wouldn't be that fashionable come the next school year. As I got older though backpacks went out of style and book bags became my new school love. I probably get a new book bag every year now that I am older but that's because my books are heavy and my poor bags can only take so much of a beating before they give up on me. So if you are in the market for a new book bag for the upcoming school year here are a few law school approved book bags. By law school approved I mean they can carry a laptop, cases book, supplemental, and notebook comfortably.

Here are some of my favorites, help mE choose please!

Michael Kors Medium Jet Set Multifunction Tote
And it comes in multiple colors, black, blue, white, cream and so much more!

I love coach bags and love this travel tote which easily turns into a very luxurious and sturdy book bag!

Kate Spade has some sassy bags, I love the canvas material and all the clever
sayings. Plus this bag zips closed!! Also probably my favorite laptop case ever!

And lastly one of my favorites is Longschamp, the nylon helps keep it clean and the zipper keeps things from falling out, plus its spacious!

As you can tell I like a bit more expensive book bags then the average student, but I think when you spent as much money on a laptop and books like I have that they deserve to be carried in style and in quality! Until next time, have a great day!

#I am a purse-son....

See what I did there? Many women have a love hate relationship with purses, they are stylish and can add character to an outfit but are a commitment and can be heavy burden to carry. Purses are not for ever women but I don't understand how those women carry anything. Our jeans are not designed to carry our wallets in the pockets nor are female wallets designed to fit in a pocket. Plus there are phones to carry and possibly a mirror and lipstick. So unless you wear bulky clothes all the time, purses are essential.
Now that I established that purses are essential, the next step is finding the one universal and timeless handbag!
The handbag that I dream about is this cross body Chanel bag,

Chanel shoulder bag

However, I don't have the disposable income to purchase it, so like many other things I am always on the look out for something comparable and a much more acceptable price point. The quilted shoulder bag is elegant and a perfect size, big enough to fit a wallet, phone, keys, and your favorite lipstick but not to big that the burden of carrying it around outweighs the benefits of having it. Since I am assuming most women cannot afford an original Chanel bag, there are many designers that make comparable ones. If you only want one bag then I suggest you invest in the cross bag, its elegant enough to wear at a special event but can also be dressed down with a pair of jeans and t-shirt. Here are some of my favorite alternatives, I own the Kate Spade one and I get constant compliments on it. (Is definitely one of my favorite purses!)

Tory Burch "Natalie" is also a great alternative, the quality and style is perfect.

Coach has amazing classic styles and what is there not to love about this simple yet elegant "Poppy" Leather Flight bag?

If you are willing to spend a little more this Marc Jacobs bag from Neiman Marcus is a beautiful investment:
If I haven't mentioned it before, I love purses and I am definitely a Purse-son!! For a Tuesday that is as witty as I can be. Have a wonderful day!

#acceptable wedge

I love wearing high heels but I don't think that my feet appreciate it very much. So a good alternative to the heel in the work place is the wedge. Now I am not promising that they are extremely comfortable but they are easier to wear than stilettos.
A while back I invested in some Kate Space Wedges, they are the perfect nude color and basically go with anything my nude or black stilettos would.
Granted wedges don't look as sexy nor do they make your legs look the way heels do, it still offers your booty the push up that a girl wants from heels. And yes, I am not afraid to admit it, I wear heels because of the way my booty looks when I wear them. I love comparing when wearing jeans, with and without heels and trust me there is a reason why heels make any occasion elegant and sexy. Heels are like body shapers for your legs, it gives lift in all the right areas.

Anyhow back to wedges: Here are some of my favorite wedges that would work for any office or even a night out on the town.

 Pour La Victoire Mai Wedge

Kate Spade can do no wrong!
Also check out these Kate Spades Wedges with a bow!

These Nine West's are also adorable and at such a great price!

#Sunnies side up

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I have a serious case of "The Mondays" today--I had a bit too much sun this past weekend--so today is more painful than a normal Monday would be.
I got a pair of new sunnies this past weekend, and took them to the beach with me, but forgot the sun screen... Apparently being fashionable is a bigger priority than protecting my now red bum!
They are the first pair of sunnies that I purchased myself, the others I own were gifts! I felt like such a big girl and I am absolutely in love.
I think I may have mentioned in an earlier post that I can't afford to buy anything at its normal retail price but with stores like Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, and Loehmann's why would you ever purchase anything at retail?
So this season, I think that every fashion blogger own these Karen Walker sunglasses. But I feel that majority of people that follow these fashion blogs (like myself) cannot afford to spend almost $300 on sunglasses. So I decided to go on my hunt for something similar.

The trend this season for sunglasses reminds me of Megan Draper from Mad Men. I love her 60's style, clothing, and accessories!
I mean look at these beauties:

My goal was to find something similar within my price range. So here are the ones that I purchased from Nordstrom Rack and other options:

Mine: Kate Spade:

Another Kate Spade pair:

Completely out of my price range but soo in LOVE: Thierry Lively

So extremely affordable and stylish, I might get a pair of these from UrbanOutfitters

And last but not least, these Vogue Cat Eyes!

There you go. Now if only I remember my sun screen the next time I head to the beach!
