#it's raining men

If you live in northern California you are experiencing the same weather as I am, its warm and rainy! The best part of rainy weather is the attire that men wear, adorable slacks, shirts, sweaters, jackets, and of course lets not forget the shoes!
I mentioned in a previous post that I love Men's Fashion, in my opinion men are so much more fun to dress, if they compile and can endure the shopping. The other day I was talking to a few guy friends and we made a list of some of their favorite designers that could work for any fit. The 5 that were on repeat were Ted Baker, Brooks Brothers, Hugo Boss, Ben Sherman, and Calvin Klein. They all make great clothing options and suits for any fit, and let me tell you FIT is key!
What woman doesn't love seeing a man in a well fitted suit, probably just as sexy as a British or Australian accent.  My thought is that a guy can spout as much game as he wants but if he isn't dressed to impress, he's going home alone.
I digress, so men if you cannot afford to get a suit tailored to you then these are great alternatives at various different price points:
Ted Baker, look at the lining of that coat!!!!!

Well Hello there good looking!
Hugo Boss and on sale!!!

Comes from the Big and Tall section at Macy's
Calvin Klein

Ben Sherman has an amazing fit for the slim fit guy! This shirt can be dressed up or down!

P.S. I get all my Ben Sherman shirts from Nordstrom Rack. They have a great selection there and most only cost $30-$40 which is such a steal!!!

I think I could shop ties for hours!!!! They are so essential, they can make or break a suit!
Hugo Raise Check

NOTE: For the more slimmer man, skinny or slim ties work best, the classic ties can overwhelm you and make you look bulky and unbalanced. The taller and broader the shoulders the more acceptable it is to wear the classic tie.

Speaking of classic ties, Armani kills me with this gem!! Must abstain from buying!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

#four eyes

I remember when being called "four eyes" was an insult, however now the four eyed look is the new nerdy chic. Now a sassy pair of glasses is the best accessory because its one of the few things you can re-wear multiple times a week and not get weird looks for repeating so often.
The plus side is that you don't even have to have a prescription, recently I heard a statistic that 1 out of every 5 people that wear glasses don't actually need them but rather wear them as a fashion accessory.
I am one of the 4 that actually need glasses, only for distance, however that doesn't stop me from wearing them all the time. The nerdy, librarian, hipster look is all the rage and I definitely recommend getting a pair.
I recently got my glasses from Warby Parker and I adore them, they have an amazing selection of prescription and non-prescription glasses at an amazing price!
Here are some cute options to choose from:

Ainworth: these are the ones I got, Absolutely love them!

#Like walking on a cloud

Shoes, shoes and more shoes. If I have an obsession it is definitely with shoes! I am pretty sure I only work to feed my shoe obsession. I always say that I am going to law school so I can one day afford all the shoes that my heart desires.
In my opinion, the worst thing that someone can do is wear a spectacular outfit and then ruin it with a horrible pair of shoes! Shoes make an outfit, trust me, it doesn't matter if you have an expensive designer outfit, suit, or dress, if you have poorly matched or old, ratty, unflattering shoes on, your outfit was worn in vain.
So ladies and MEN, yes men to, it is important to invest in a few timeless pairs of shoes. Don't get me wrong, I'd advocate buying all types of shoes but I feel like the basics is a good starting point.
Girls the colorful, sparkly or platform shoes are cute but DO NOT replace the classic shoe with them. A beautiful classic shoe DOES NOT make you look old or out of fashion. On the contrary, it will show sophistication and endless class. Trust me class is more valuable than momentary sexiness.
Men as well, you need at least one fabulous pair of dress shoes, you never know when someone important glances down and notices your shoes.

Your outfit and shoes are your first impression before you open your mouth. So if you tend to have diarrhea of the mouth, maybe you need to make sure that your outfit makes up for what your mouth will screw up for you, joking....but not really.

Looks are not everything, but caring about your appearance doesn't make you vain, it means you appreciate and respect yourself!

Now I know that shoes, classic shoes, can cost a fortune and I am currently saving for the loves of my life the Christian Louboutin Black Pumps. However, I do know how to be reasonable since I will have to save a years worth to buy those Christian Louboutins, so until I can afford those, these are perfect alternatives for women and for men.

A little twist to the classic pump, but still oh so sophisticated!

Stuart Weitzman (one of my favorite designers, pumps are so comfortable!)

Stuart Weitzman has such classy and clean cut pumps, I have these in brown and absolutely need these in nude and black. I have back problems and "try" to find heels that are classy and comfortable, and these feel like you are walking on a cloud.

NOW FOR MEN: Be forewarned that I have an obsession with men shoes as well, especially Hugo Boss, they have the perfect dress shoe and his suits are amazing, but that's for another post.

BOSS Black
My advice for men's dress shoes, if you are on a budget, instead of going to Nordstrom, try Nordstrom Rack. They have the same shoes for a much more affordable price. The rack also makes sure to carry an abundance of Hugo Boss shoes for men, in case you were wondering what to get that special father in your life!

For the men that don't like the cap toe look I present the BOSS Mettor Apron Toe Derby.

I have been referred to as the "google of men fashion", any guy that needs advice on what to wear and how to dress their body type just tells me and within moments I have a long list of outfits that are perfect and within whatever price range they give me. I may love shopping for men more than women, so expect a few men fashion posts soon to come!

#Just Keep Swimming

It's summer time which means new swimsuits. But I say lets make this summer more retro, I get the appeal of the bikini but ladies the truly sexy suit this year is the retro one piece. It not only serves as a great body shaper but I am over the tinny whinny bikini, time to classy up the water. Even if you have a great bikini body, trust me the one piece will only serve to compliment your body and add a bit of mystery (which is sexier). Don't get me wrong I own a few bikini's and they are great to lounge by the pool for a tan when I am by myself, but when I am going to a beach or pool party this summer I plan to stun with the various sexy retro looks of the one piece.

#Loose in the Streets

It's hot in California and everyone is finding a way to show some skin and cool off. But if you work in a professional setting (as I do), it may be hard to balance style, professionalism and not looking like an inappropriately dressed college student.
That is why I absolutely love the sheer look, adding a little sheer to your outfit is versatile, conservative, professional, allowing for the right amount of room for your skin to breathe and dare I say it, sexy (yes you are allowed a little bit of sexy even in a professional work outfit).
If you need to see what I am talking about, take a look at these fabulous finds, you can either invest or stock up on a few reasonably priced ones.

Zara (isn't this color to die for?)

Jill Stuart Alara (Pure sophistication!)

My first blog post, bare with me, I promise my posts will get more detailed, more outfits suggestions, and amusing.
